Lil godlings concept still

So me and Cynthea have been working on our film on and off making various pieces of designs and layouts.

For the most part we've been keeping most of the material to ourselves but she did something so beautiful and cool that I just had to post it and show it to peeps.

I would really love for the final product to look like this. We'll see.

Coqui on Aniboom

Dear buddies,

My student film "Coqui" is in the Aniboom.com competition in the Drama category.

Now to win, or even have a chance of winning, I need all the damned viewing, hits, ratings and comments as possible. So here's the link:

Coqui on Aniboom!!!

Please, please, please, tell everyone to go and check it out and vote, rate or comment on the film. I'd appreciate any support you could muster up! And if there's still time (and I do believe there is!,) go and submit your own film and compete!!!

Run Em Run

Here's a one pose from the Fudge & Emily Pitchbook i'm working on.

I have a comic on the way- but sadly, the file is being a real bitch and doesn't want to open. This is the last time i'm going to be doing the comic on the comp.

Watercolors and the love of art supplies.

I love Art supplies. In this case I'm talking about my little black Moleskin watercolor book and my watercolor brush pen. If you love watercolor painting, I highly recommend getting both. They're crazy portable and a lot of fun and easy to use.

Ronnie del carmen and Glen Villpu like them too. If you're not going to believe me, then at least trust those master artists.

I used these both on Sketchcrawl #10 and at the Bronx Zoo this past weekend. I went with a huge group of people from Animation Collective. We had like 23 peeps man! Inspiring to have a small brigade of animators battle the heat and throng of parents with their baby strollers all for the love of animals. And monkey poop. And flying giraffe tongues.

So here are my watercolors from the last 2 weeks. I hope to get this moleskin book finished by the end of July.

My only regret is that I failed to capture the awesome majesty of this one giraffe whipping around his mighty tongue like a fiery whip.

Fiery whip I tell you.

crazy arm

This is just a test for a project i'm working on with a friend. The project is actually a comic but I was really itching to animate the idea behind this guy.

I'd really like to get this animation to a point where i'd be happy to put it in a reel. Just started it yesterday at work for fun.

I need suggestions, comments, opinions.....I really want to make this top-notch. What do you think could make it better? What isn't clear? What could use more emphasis?

7-11 pac man

Sometimes at work me and my co-workers go for slurpees at 7-11.

I have become addicted and now crave them at 5 o'clock everyday.

Sometimes at work I get bored around 3pm.

This stupid animation is a product of that boredom.

Fuchsia

I'm reading the Gormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake. This is the Lady Fuchsia who is the daughter of the seventh-sixth earl of groan- Sepulchrave Groan.

She loves being in her secret attic which is above her room all alone where she can draw with charcoal and imagine being the sole queen of the giant castle known as Gormenghast.

True Story

This is a conversation that i heard right outside my house while coming home from work. TRUE STORY.

Kid suggests to buddy with wolverine mask and GIGANTIC ( I mean this thing devoured about 90% of his freaking arm,) Hulk glove that he should punch him off his bike because it would be cool.

I totally agree.

Kids are great.

Stretchin'

I've been getting up at 6:30 every morning to run for 20 mins before work. It's really refreshing to get the rising sun and fresh air and be out when everyone is still pretty much asleep or getting ready in their homes.

That's when I can get myself out of bed. I often feel like Fudge when I try to get up- grumpy and still wanting more sleep. But who doesn't? Apparently Emily.

I remember when I was like around eight years old, I could wake up at the crack of dawn to watch Ultraman: Towards the future (which was the version filmed in New Zealand.) And it wasn't just this show, and it didn't have to be just cartoons. If i had a new toy or a new video game or even a cool drawing I just finished the night before I could wake up just to take a look!

I still get this way but with work it's harder to do this. At one point in 5th grade- I remember waking up at 5am just to watch cartoons for 2 hours straight.

Character Drawing, Week One: Tom Bombadil

My buddy Pedro has been doing some great artistic excercising by drawing one literary character per week. He's done a bunch and they are rather impressive.

I'm always having trouble finding what to put down unto a blank page so I'd thought I'd give it a shot. My first go at it is Ole' Tom Bombadil from the Fellowship of the Ring.

Little Tremors

This story was inspired by an outing with my family at a mexican restaurant where my extended family and I were all enjoying dinner.

I was sitting across from my six year old cousin Nina who while munching on her chicken fingers decided to fart quite suddenly. She started laughing hysterically and her enjoyment from breaking wind made me laugh out loud.

What I found very silly and annoying was that her uncle told her off and acted like she had commited the most vile sin a little girl could ever do.

I understand he was trying to instill some semblance of manners at her young age....but really...come on, she's six. Every six year old finds farting hilarious.

Yay farts.

rusty tank robot

Started this in photoshop and basically tried to start from a really rough painterly sketch and just block it out over many layers. Not sure what to do with it next, or how to polish it further. I know it's missing something. What do you think?

Rend of Terror

2nd Fudge and Emily comic! I'm actually content with the coloring on this one. It was a lil weird at first but I think it really came through. Still don't know how to color really. Cheers to Liam for the title.
